How Live Casinos Work

Live dealer Poker uses video steaming technology to connect you directly to a state of the art, specially set up gaming studio. While the video stream is real time, you can see and hear everything that is going on, with multiple cameras catching every second of the action. The video feed only works in one direction though, so you can still enjoy the anonymity that Internet based play has to offer. You can however chat to everyone around the table- other players included- by using the built in chat function.

Take a Seta and Play

Unlike regular online casino Poker, the live version can only accommodate up to seven players per table. However, most casinos offer plenty of tables with different betting limits to cater for those on limited budget as well high rollers. When you log on, the first thing you need to do is find a table with the right betting limits and the correct version of Poker you want to play. Once a seat opens up, you can log in and start playing as soon as the next round begins.

How the Game Works

Live dealer Poker is a little different to the classic land-based version. This is not pot-style Poker where you are competing against the other players around the table for a central pot. Instead, these online casino games are played casino-style where all the players compete against the dealer’s hand. It is a bit like Blackjack in this way, as every player is competing against one hand.

At the start of each new round, bets will be opened. While there are different variations, they all have the same basic setup. The first step is to place you ante bet. This can be done by clicking or tapping on the virtual chips located at the bottom of the screen. The ante wager is a set according to specific table limits. Once everyone has placed the ante bet, the first deal begins.

Playing a Round

If you are familiar with Poker-style online casino games, you should have not trouble picking up the basics of the live version. Once the bets have been placed, each player is dealt their own set of cards and the dealer gets a set of cards, with at least one card facing up. If you are playing Hold’em style, the first set of community cards is also dealt out.

The aim here is to beat the dealer’s hand by creating the highest-ranking hand possible using the cards you have been dealt. The idea is to analyse your hand, then look at the up-facing card and figure out if it is worth placing the call bet or folding.

Once everyone has their cards, each player around the table has the option of calling (double the ante bet) or folding, which means you forfeit your initial wager. After everyone has made their decision, the dealer will reveal his or her cards and the results are compared. If you hand trumps their hand, your ante bet is returned to you and you win even money on your call bet.

Live dealer Poker is a real game changer, and if you want to enjoy authentic entertainment online at it’s best, it’s the perfect choice.
